ABOUT THE PLAY
Rebellion is an obligation not an option. In this modern world we have two options: Either to fall or to stand up. What if you had to choose? Leaving Ziller Valley tells the story of the young Tyrolean manager Elizabeth. Alienated and lost from jet-setting between high-end hotels from Paris to Shangai, she decides to stay in New York. Maybe in this city full of dreamers, she can find what she is looking for: a place that she can call home and where she can ultimately find herself. The sound of the homeless in the midst of an urban jungle.

A reflection about modern society and the struggle for the individual to create a HOME in a globalized, modern world. Inspired by European and American theatre traditions, Leaving Ziller Valley creates a new version of post-modern theatre. In remembrance of Berlin’s wild Frank Castorf and the meditativeness of Peter Brook, we invite to a mix of non-verbal, psychological theatre, performance art and Austrian humour. A rebellious, funny and nostalgic declaration of love to this journey called life.

Das Künstlerkollektiv „Protagonistinnen“ hat ein Atelier ins Leben gerufen, mit dem Ziel, Raum dafür zu schaffen, vielfältigere Frauenbilder in den Medien zu gestalten.
Der Abend „same same NOT different“ stellt eine Kollaboration von 8 Schauspielerinnen, 4 Regisseurinnen und 1 Autorin dar. Gezeigt werden vier verschiedene Versionen einer Szene aus dem Drehbuch “Die Königin von Thule” von Paula Redlefsen.
Im Rahmen einer Ausschreibung wurden vier Teams zusammengestellt, die über einen Zeitraum von einem Monat ihre individuelle Interpretation der Geschichte erarbeitet haben und diese exklusiv am 7. August einem Publikum präsentieren werden.

DIE PROTAGONISTINNEN. Same same NOT different.
Wir sind Julia, Petra, Sandra und Svenja – vier Frauen, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt haben, die Frauenbilder in den Medien mitzugestalten und vielfältigere Vorbilder zu schaffen.
Unter dem Titel „Protagonistinnen – same same NOT different“ organisieren wir einen Abend, der eine Kollaboration von 8 Schauspielerinnen, 4 Regisseurinnen und 1 Autorin darstellt.
Im Zuge einer Ausschreibung wurde eine Szene ausgewählt, die von vier Regisseurinnen inszeniert wird, so dass jeweils vier 3er Teams aus 1 Regisseurin und 2 Schauspielerinnen entstehen. Damit wollen wir Denkanstöße für mehr Kreativität und Offenheit geben, die oft einseitigen Besetzungspraktiken aufrütteln und gleichzeitig eine Plattform für den Austausch untereinander schaffen. Vielleicht fragt ihr euch, warum denn nur für Frauen? In den Medien wird ja gerade überall davon berichtet, dass die Frauen in der Theater-, Film- und Fernsehlandschaft extrem unterrepräsentiert sind. Genau das möchten wir ändern und deshalb Frauen die Möglichkeit bieten, sich kreativ auszutoben.
